PERU: Congress declares vacant the office of Ombudsman

Congress declares vacancy in the office of Ombudsman
The Congress declared the vacancy of the office of Ombudsman from the first of April this year, after Beatriz Merino to resign in late March after serving more than five years to play that role
According to the Organic Law on the Ombudsman's Office, the President of the Legislature to declare the vacancy the office of Ombudsman in case of resignation.
The Legislative resolution declaring the vacancy of Merino stresses the role of Parliament to appoint the new head of the Ombudsman.
